Met ruim 35.000 bezoekers heeft Star Wars: The Force Awakens Pathé de beste openingsdag aller tijden bezorgd. Het SF-spektakel versloeg de vorige recordhouder – Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part Two – met liefst vierduizend bezoekers. Bij Pathé IMAX versloeg de nieuwe Star Wars de vorige recordhouder The Dark Knight Rises en voert het nu de eeuwige ranglijst aan met ruim tienduizend bezoekers op de openingsdag.
